Wout Hermans

Head of Customer Success, EMEA at MURAL

Wout Hermans has a diverse and extensive work experience. Wout started their career as a Test Engineer at Inalfa Roof Systems Group in 2009 and then worked as a Mechanical Engineering Research Assistant at the University of Canterbury in 2011. In 2012, they joined NTS-Group as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where they designed a high-tech system and collaborated with colleagues from various disciplines.

In 2013, Hermans worked at Migatronic A/S as a Product Engineer and Innovation Manager, where they focused on enhancing innovation practices in the company's new product development processes. Wout then joined Dansk IngeniørService A/S in 2014 as an Innovation Management Researcher, conducting research to help engineering clients on their innovation journey.

From 2014 to 2017, Hermans worked at IBM iX, starting as a Graduate Consultant and progressing to become a Consultant and later a Senior Consultant. In this role, they collaborated with clients to understand their businesses and goals and facilitated design thinking workshops.

In 2017, they joined Selina as a Business Designer, where they focused on innovation through service and experience design, as well as operational improvements.

In 2018, Hermans joined Mural as a Senior Enterprise Transformation Manager, responsible for driving enterprise transformation initiatives. Wout later became the Associate Director of Success Architects EMEA and most recently the Head of Customer Success EMEA, where they connected teams to unlock their potential and fostered a culture of effective collaboration.

In 2021, they also became a member of Pavilion, further expanding their professional network.

Wout Hermans has a strong educational background in the field of innovation management, along with a degree in mechanical engineering. Wout obtained a MSc degree in Global Innovation Management from Aalborg University in 2013-2014. Prior to this, they completed the first year of the same MSc program at the University of Strathclyde in 2012-2013. Wout Hermans also holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fontys Venlo University of Applied Sciences, which they earned in the period of 2007-2012. Additionally, they participated in a minor study abroad program in Mechanical Engineering at VIA University College in 2010.

In terms of additional certifications, Wout has acquired various qualifications to enhance their professional skills. These include certifications such as "Rising Executives School" and "Chief Customer Officer School" obtained from Pavilion in December 2022 and August 2022, respectively. Furthermore, they completed the "Manager Intensive 1" program offered by LifeLabs Learning in June 2021. Wout also holds certifications in areas such as creative collaboration, design sprint, agile methodology, iOS design, and scrum mastery, which were acquired between 2015 and 2019 from institutions like IDEO U, AJ&Smart GmbH, IBM iX, and Scrum Alliance.
