Carolyn Oakes

Carolyn Oakes has a diverse work experience in the field of exhibition management and coordination. Carolyn started their career at the NSF Center for High-rate Nanomanufacturing at Northeastern University as a Staff Assistant from October 2006 to August 2008. Carolyn then worked at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, where they served as an Administrative Assistant for Exhibition Management from September 2008 to July 2011, and later as an Exhibition Management Coordinator from July 2011 to November 2013. Currently, they are employed at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), where they have held various roles since December 2013. These roles include Exhibition Programs Coordinator from December 2013 to November 2016, Senior Exhibition Programs Coordinator from November 2016 to April 2019, Head of Exhibition Coordination from April 2019 to September 2022, and currently as the Assistant Director of Exhibitions starting in September 2022.

Carolyn Oakes attended Boston University from 2002 to 2006, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Art History.
