Jen Holmes

Assistant Vice President, Strategic Services at MUSEUM ASSOCIATES

Jen Holmes has a diverse work experience in the arts and museum industry. Jen began their career as an Education Intern at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in 1998 and later worked as an Education Intern at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in 1999, where they helped plan education programs. Jen then transitioned to working as a Gallery Assistant at Gagosian from 2000 to 2002, and later at Margo Leavin Gallery in 2002.

In 2003, Jen joined the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art as an Assistant to the Director, where they played a key role in the successful opening of a new facility. Jen then served as the Associate Director, Executive Affairs, managing the museum's strategic planning process and reaccreditation. Jen was promoted to Director of Development, where they developed grant and membership programs and created a development strategy.

In 2011, Jen joined a Contemporary Art Gallery in Los Angeles as the Director, establishing a strong network of art-related contacts and working closely with artists, clients, and staff.

Jen's next career move was to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in 2013, where they served as the Director of Annual Giving Programs. In this role, they led a team and raised approximately $3 million through patron groups, donor travel programs, and the annual fund.

In 2016, Jen became the Director of Prospect Strategy & Research at LACMA, where they shifted from a frontline role to a data-driven systems and operations position. Jen improved the Capital Campaign support and implemented a strategic shift in fundraising strategy.

In 2017, Jen was promoted to Senior Director, Strategic Development Services at LACMA. In this role, they folded reporting & analytics, data management, and the database/CRM teams into their department. Jen also established a partnership with the finance & accounting team and led a major database conversion.

Jen's most recent position at LACMA is the Assistant Vice President, Strategic Services, which they started in February 2020. In this role, they built a cross-divisional business intelligence program and leads a team of thirteen. The program supports robust engagement pipelines at all stages, from marketing and web awareness to visitor experience, participation, and ownership.

Jen Holmes has a diverse education background. Jen obtained their MBA in Management from the Wisconsin School of Business. Prior to that, they earned a B.A., with honors, from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where they studied Studio Art (Sculpture), Art History, and Business Administration.

In addition to their degrees, Jen has also acquired several certifications. Jen became a Workshopper Master through AJ&Smart in July 2022. Jen holds the Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) certification from Acuity Institute, obtained in October 2021. Jen also completed the Product Management for AI & Data course offered by Udemy in February 2021. Prior to that, they obtained the Anti-Racist Leadership certification from Torch in July 2020. In June 2020, they earned a Certificate in Data Science from General Assembly. Furthermore, in December 2019, they completed the Certificate in Data Analytics program, also offered by General Assembly.
