Sara Widzer

Sara Widzer is an accomplished acting and performance coach currently serving at the Music Academy of the West since June 2021 and as a stage director for LA Opera and Washington National Opera since 2019 and 2016, respectively. With over 15 years of diverse directing experience across various stage mediums, including theatre, musical theatre, opera, and dance, Sara Widzer specializes in working with actors of all ages and offers private coaching in acting technique, breath and speech, movement, and audition preparation. Educational credentials include a Master of Music in Voice and Opera from Florida State University and a BA in Theatre from Connecticut College, supplemented by specialized training in Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Notable past roles include assistant director for productions at Portland Opera and The Glimmerglass Festival, emphasizing a strong background in both directing and coaching within the performing arts.
