Ben Crown

Chairman at Mutare

Ben started his career with Deloitte Haskins and Sells and has more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of business financial management and control. He has since been involved with the management of software organizations, dating as far back as the creation of the IBM personal computer.

Before Mutare, Ben was VP of Operations and CFO for Home Access Health Corporation, a leading participant in the field of telemedicine. He was also the CFO for the Whitewater Group, Inc., an industry leader in the Windows and object-oriented development tools software market. Ben was responsible for venture capital funding and strategic operations at Whitewater, which achieved revenue growth in excess of 50% annually between 1988 and 1991 before being sold to Symantec Corporation. Prior to Whitewater, he spent six years with Enterprise Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of specialized computer services for the healthcare industry that was sold to HBO in 1996.

In 1989, Ben joined Mutare, which over the years has become a leading developer of web, telephony and mobile based solutions. Now, almost three decades later, Mutare continues its leadership role, delivering productivity gains through advanced applications focused on voice recognition, unified messaging and secure notification across a variety of industries.

Ben is an advocate for maintaining Mutare’s strong corporate culture. Finding people that share his passion for delivering creative solutions wrapped around Mutare’s outstanding support structure has been the key to Mutare’s growth for three decades and remains central to how the company will continue to provide value for its constituent groups in the future.

He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois, Urbana.
