Jim Cahill

Jim Cahill has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Jim started their career at Digital Equipment Corporation in 1982 as a Software Engineer. Jim then worked at Cabletron Systems as a Software Engineer in 1998. Jim joined Avici Systems in the same year and held the role of Principal Software Engineer, where they focused on embedded real-time vxWorks-based custom operating system development for an Internet core router product. Jim also designed and supported a VLAN-based IP network solution. In 2006, Jim joined Egenera, Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they worked on system-level Linux programming and developed a Linux user-mode application for virtualized Linux servers. Jim also contributed to Linux kernel development and integration with virtualization technologies. Currently, Jim is working at Mutualink as a Principal Development Engineer.
