Richard Ellis

Richard Ellis serves as the Executive Director and CEO of my529, overseeing marketing, compliance, finance, and investments for Utah's only 529 college savings plan since November 2015. Prior to this, Richard held the position of State Treasurer for two terms, where significant initiatives enhanced unclaimed property returns and financing for charter schools. Richard also served as Chief Deputy State Treasurer, managing day-to-day operations, and as Director of the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget. In academia, Richard was an adjunct faculty member at Brigham Young University, teaching cash management and investment courses. Richard holds an M.B.A. from the University of Utah and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Brigham Young University.
