Bernard Redortier has extensive experience in the field of thermal comfort and has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Bernard started as a Thermal Comfort Lab Manager at IFTH-Lyon in 1991 and worked there until 1997. Bernard then served as a Thermal Comfort R&D engineer at W.L. Gore & associates in Scotland from 1997 to 2000. Afterward, they worked as a Thermal Comfort Consulting freelancer at Systeme Vetement from 2000 to 2006. Bernard then joined Decathlon SA and held multiple roles, including Thermal Comfort scientist and R&D Thermal Comfort specialist in aquatic activities, from 2006 to 2017. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Dyson as a Thermal Comfort Research Engineer. In 2019, they joined Humaclim (Human Climate & Sensation) as a Thermal Comfort - R&D Consulting expert. Bernard also has consulting experience with Clim8, where they provided assistance in intelligent thermal technology. Bernard Redortier has expertise in assessing thermal comfort, conducting field and laboratory testing, characterizing heat and moisture transfer properties, developing test protocols and systems, and modeling and predicting heat transfer and body thermal response.

Bernard Redortier began their education in 1979 by pursuing an Engineer's degree in Engineering Mechanics at ECAM LaSalle - ECAM Lyon, which they completed in 1982. Following this, they enrolled at Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne in 1989 to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mathematics - Image Analysis. Bernard successfully completed their Ph.D. program in 1992.
