Sanford M. Stein

Sanford M. (Sandy) Stein is an accomplished environmental and energy lawyer having helped "pioneer" the emergent field in the 1980s. He has appeared twice before the United States Supreme Court in threshold environmental cases helping establish and later defining the Court's crucial role in environmental jurisdiction. He is also accomplished in land use planning, legislation, and business formation. He has worked at every level of government and understands the interface between government and business. He has handled legislation in the U. S. Congress and numerous state legislatures in the United States. He is well recognized among government and business leaders and has written numerous articles on environmental, energy, and land use matters. He is responsible for the siting of energy facilities and was a peer review editor of the American Bar Association book on Hydraulic Fracking. He is a regular commentator on GreenSense Radio speaking on the economic and financial benefits of renewable energy. Consistent with his experience in government regulations and emerging industries, he is a leading authority on cannabis legislation, laws, and regulations and a contributor to Hemp Today magazine.
