Dirk Pleimes

Dirk Pleimes has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Dirk is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Myelo Therapeutics GmbH, a position they took on in January 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Founder/CEO & Chief Scientific/Medical Officer of the same company from June 2013 to December 2021. Dirk also holds the position of Clinical Development & Regulatory Advisor at Calder Biosciences, Inc. since January 2021.

In addition, Dirk has founded and served as the Managing Director of BioSputnik LLC since October 2019 and SCINSPIRE Holding & Consulting GmbH since October 2013. Dirk was also the Founder, CSO/CMO, and Scientific Advisor of Treamid Therapeutics GmbH from April 2017 to December 2020.

Dirk's earlier experience includes notable roles at Bayer HealthCare, where they served as the Global Medical Lead for therapeutic areas of Ophthalmology and Neurology, Head of Medical Affairs Europe and Canada Ophthalmology. Dirk was involved in the global launch preparation and execution of a multi-billion euro biologic for central and branch retinal vein occlusion (RVO) indications. Prior to this, Dirk held various positions in global medical affairs and product management specialized therapeutics.

Before joining Bayer HealthCare, Dirk worked as a Consultant Physician in Clinical Development at Parexel International.

Overall, Dirk has an extensive background in executive leadership, scientific and medical roles, clinical development, regulatory advisory, and global medical affairs across the healthcare industry.

Dirk Pleimes began their education journey in 1999 at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where they pursued a degree in Medicine. Dirk successfully completed their Medical Doctor degree in 2005. In their pursuit of further knowledge and skills, Dirk attended a course in Professional Negotiation at Harvard Law School in 2013.

Continuing their educational pursuits, in 2009, Dirk enrolled at The Open University, where they obtained a Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Management in 2010. In 2006, they attended Robert Gordon University, where they earned an International Postgraduate Marketing Certificate in 2007.

Dirk also engaged in post-graduate molecular research in Immunology at Imperial College London in 2004. Dirk undertook this research twice at the same institution. Additionally, in 2003, Dirk attended Universitat de Barcelona to further their studies in Medicine.

To enhance their knowledge and skills, Dirk obtained a certification from VC University ONLINE in January 2023. This certification was awarded to him by VC University.
