Derek Gaffney

Derek Gaffney has a diverse range of work experience in the field of infrastructure and DevOps engineering. Derek most recently worked as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at MyFitnessPal in 2020. Prior to that, they held the same role at Under Armour from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, they worked as a Site Reliability Engineer at Under Armour from 2019 to 2020.

Before joining Under Armour, Derek was a DevOps Engineer at eSolutions, now part of Waystar, from 2018 to 2019. In this role, they played a key role in acquisition and transition initiatives, as well as implementing infrastructure as code and containerization with Docker.

Prior to eSolutions, Derek worked as a DevOps Engineer at Dorado Systems Inc from 2018 to 2019. In this role, they implemented CI/CD pipelines, containerized applications, and provisioned AWS infrastructure as code.

Earlier in their career, Derek gained experience as a Computer Engineering Intern at Lockheed Martin in 2017 and as a Student Researcher at Rowan University from 2015 to 2017.

Derek began their professional career as a Client Support Specialist at Exnelo, A Division of Techcommodations, LLC, where they provided client support from 2011 to 2017.

Derek Gaffney obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Rowan University, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. Additionally, they received the Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) in July 2022.
