Erik Zmuda

Erik Zmuda currently serves as Laboratory Director at Myriad Genetics since March 2019, previously holding the position of Associate Laboratory Director. Prior to this role, Zmuda was Director of the Institute for Genomic Medicine Clinical Laboratory at Nationwide Children's Hospital, where responsibilities included the oversight of molecular genetics clinical cases and new genetic test development focusing on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). Zmuda also has experience as Molecular Genetics Technical Director at the Biospecimen Core Resource and completed a Clinical Molecular Genetics Fellowship accredited by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Earlier career roles include Postdoctoral Scientist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Post Doctoral Research Scientist at The Ohio State University, and various academic positions including Research Associate and Laboratory Manager. Zmuda earned a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from The Ohio State University and holds a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Georgetown University, complemented by a B.S. in Biology from the University of Dayton.
