Madelena Mak

Madelena Mak has extensive work experience in the field of product and design. Madelena currently works as a Product and Design Lead at Nabu Casa and Home Assistant. In their previous roles, they worked as a User Experience Designer and Product Designer for various startups and companies, where they helped build the foundations of UX. Madelena also had roles at StartupBus, where they served as a Digital Director, Advisor, Senior National Director, and National Director, overseeing the competition and leading a team of producers. Madelena has also worked as a Design Consultant for the United Nations, where they redesigned various websites and contributed to the UNEP Convention on Biological Diversity. Madelena's work experience also includes being the Head of Design at AD/FIN, Founder and Designer of MiniMap, and an Instructor and Mentor-in-Residence at Startup Institute. Madelena has a strong background in user experience design and has received recognition for their mentoring and teaching abilities.

Madelena Mak obtained a BArch & BFA degree in Architecture and Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design from 2000 to 2005. Madelena also has additional certifications such as "Preventing Discrimination & Harassment: NY Managers V4.2 - 2023" from Traliant, and various design-related certifications from LinkedIn, including "Figma: Handing off to Developers," "Design Thinking: Understanding the Process," "Designing for Neural Networks and AI Interfaces," "Executive Presence: Tips for Women," "John Maeda on Design, Business, and Inclusion," and "Women Transforming Tech: Building Your Brand," all obtained in 2020.
