Dr. John S. Hollemon III

Director Of Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion Initiatives at NACAC

Dr. John S. Hollemon III has a comprehensive and diverse work experience spanning a range of educational and inclusivity roles. Dr. John S. currently serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the National Association for College Admission Counseling. Previously, they held the positions of Dean of Inclusive Excellence & Chief Diversity Officer, Deputy Title IX Coordinator, and Associate Dean of Students & Chief Diversity Officer at Hampden-Sydney College. Dr. Hollemon also worked as an Adjunct Instructor and Director of Residence Life at Summerfuel, as well as a Coordinator of Confetti's Student Lounge and Residence Hall Educator at Ferrum College. Dr. John S. was also a National Fellow with NADOHE - National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education. Earlier in their career, they served as Interim Coordinator of Housing and Community Director at Louisburg College, held positions at Randolph-Macon College, Partnership for the Future Inc, Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth, and worked as a Gameday Performer & Ambassador for the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Dr. John S. Hollemon III obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies with minors in Asian Studies and Black Studies from Randolph-Macon College. Dr. John S. also participated in a Study Abroad Program focused on Social Entrepreneurship at The University of the South. Dr. Hollemon continued their education by pursuing a Master's Degree in Executive Leadership with a concentration in Business Management from Liberty University. Dr. John S. then earned a Doctoral Degree in Healthcare Administration with a focus on Health Equity from Virginia University of Lynchburg.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Hollemon has obtained various certifications. Dr. John S. received a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. In November 2019, they completed the Advanced Campus Security Authority Course for Police and Public Safety offered by Stafford and Associates. In August 2019, they obtained a Stop the Bleed certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Dr. Hollemon also received certifications in Campus Hate Speech and Trauma Informed Sexual Assault Investigation and Adjudication from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services in August and July 2018, respectively. Dr. John S. further completed the Title IX Regulatory Compliance/Advanced Leadership Institute in May 2018, also from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. Additionally, Dr. Hollemon has certifications in Incident Command System for Higher Education, Introduction to Hazardous Material, Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS-100), and National Incident Management System (NIMS) from FEMA, obtained in August 2013, August 2012, March 2012, and January 2011 respectively. Lastly, they received a Mental Health First Aid certification from the National Council for Behavioral Health in March 2019.
