Haiyan Zhai M.D, Ph.D has a diverse and impressive work experience in the field of biotechnology. They are currently serving as the Senior Director of Product Development, Collaborations and Technology Access Program (TAP) at NanoString Technologies, Inc. In this role, they work closely with executive-level stakeholders, develop new products, and build relationships with research institutions and pharmaceutical companies.

Prior to joining NanoString Technologies, Inc., Dr. Zhai worked at Natera as the Associate Director of R&D - Scientific Operations. They led the Scientific Operations team and oversaw various functions, such as R&D lab operations, sample processing, and program management.

Before that, Dr. Zhai held positions at Biocare Medical, where they served as the Director of Product Development and Senior Scientist in R&D and QC Operations. They were responsible for overseeing the development, quality control, and manufacturing of various medical products.

Dr. Zhai began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Stony Brook University, where they focused on studying the impacts of miRNA on colorectal cancer progression and the utilization of miRNAs as biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment.

Throughout their career, Dr. Zhai has demonstrated strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of product development processes, and extensive knowledge in their field of expertise.

Haiyan Zhai, M.D, Ph.D has an extensive education history. Haiyan obtained their medical degree in Clinical Medicine from Sun Yat-sen University in 2000. Later, they pursued a Master of Science in Pathology at the same university from 2000 to 2003. Following this, Haiyan went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular & Cellular Biology at Stony Brook University from 2005 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, Haiyan also holds a certification in Leadership Mindsets from LinkedIn, which they obtained in 2022.
