K'mar Grant-Smith has a diverse work experience in the field of technology and research. K'mar began their career as a College Advisor/SYEP at Prince George's County Office of Information Technology in 2017. K'mar also worked as a Network Infrastructure Intern at the same organization. In 2017, they took on the role of a Cyber Security Research Assistant at Bowie State University, where they later became a Tutor. In 2018, K'mar worked as a College Technical Intern at Northrop Grumman. In 2019, they had the opportunity to work as a Student Trainee at the United States Department of Defense before joining Laboratory for Telecommunication Sciences as a Research Intern. Their latest work experience includes working as a Network Engineer and currently as an Enterprise Applications Software Engineer Team Lead at the prestigious NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory since 2020.

K'mar Grant-Smith obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technology from Bowie State University in 2020. Prior to that, they attended Gwynn Park High from 2012 to 2016. K'mar is currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in Information & Cyber Security from the University of California, Berkeley, with an expected completion in 2025. In terms of certifications, they hold various credentials including AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Security+ from CompTIA, TCP/IP from Cybrary, and several Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications. Additionally, they have obtained the A+ certification from CompTIA in 2014 and completed a Certificate of Completion in HTML Fundamentals from SoloLearn in 2016.
