Rafia Qutab

Rafia Qutab has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Rafia started their career as a Hardware Test Engineer and Systems Verification intern at Cisco in 2007. Rafia then worked as an EOE Tutor at The University of Texas at Austin from 2006 to 2008. Rafia joined Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer intern in 2008 and worked on various projects related to WLID User Management Tool.

In 2009, Rafia worked as a Software Development Engineer on a contract basis at Hudson Energy, focusing on energy solutions and pricing portals. Rafia then joined Nielsen in 2010 as an Agile Software Engineer, where they designed and developed analytic tools and utilized various technologies such as C# ASP.Net, SQL, and SAS.

Rafia joined Enova Financial in 2012 as a Senior Software Engineer, specializing in Ruby on Rails development for the NetCredit platform. Rafia worked closely with teams such as Fraud, Analytics, and Operations. From 2014 to 2015, Rafia worked at NationBuilder as a Senior Software Engineer, primarily focusing on Ruby on Rails development for campaign finance systems and payment processing.

In 2015, Rafia joined Fullscreen as a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for developing back-end and front-end applications for video and API engineering teams. Rafia also served as an Engineering Lead for distributed systems. In 2017, they were promoted to Lead Software Engineer and continued to contribute to various projects related to video ingests, transcoding, publishing, and distribution.

In 2018, Rafia joined Neural Analytics as a Principal Software Engineer. Rafia played a crucial role in developing data analysis, filtering, visualization, and feature extraction tools for the Data Science and Research Team. The company was later renamed to NovalSignal.

Most recently, Rafia joined NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2019. Rafia currently serves as a Senior Software Engineer and is also the Team Lead for the Software Engineering team.

Rafia Qutab holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
