Sol Ortega

Sol Ortega currently serves as a Public Engagement Advisor at NASA since July 2024, having previously held the position of Senior Advisor for Public Engagement at The White House from October 2022 to July 2024. Prior experience includes roles such as Latino Engagement Deputy Director at Building Back Together and Deputy Director of Engagement in the United States Senate. Earlier experience involved staff assistant and legislative correspondent positions in the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as internships and fellowships focused on legislative strategy, public policy, and community engagement. Sol Ortega holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Florida, where engagement in various governmental and campaign roles further developed skills in public service and community advocacy.
