Sheila Meiman

Sheila Meiman is a dedicated education professional currently serving as a Prison Education Specialist at the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) since May 2023, focusing on the restoration of Pell Grant eligibility for incarcerated students and providing technical assistance to practitioners. Prior to this role, Sheila was an Associate Professor of Mathematics and retired as the Director of Returning & Incarcerated Student Education (RISE) at Raritan Valley Community College from 2005 to June 2023, where responsibilities included coordinating a state-wide Associate's Degree program for incarcerated individuals, managing academic affairs, and overseeing student services for 500 matriculating students. Sheila's experience also includes serving as a Director at Lucent Technologies from 1996 to 2002. Sheila holds a Bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.
