William P. Fischer

Director, National Declassification Center NDC at National Archives

William P. Fischer is the Director of the National Declassification Center (NDC) at the National Archives. William has served in this role since October 2003.

Prior to their current position, Mr. Fischer was an Archives Technician at the National Archives from January 2002 to October 2003. Before that, they were a Visual Theirtory Analyst at the Survivors of the Shoah Visual Theirtory Foundation from October 2000 to January 2002.

Mr. Fischer has a long history of working with archives and historical records. William is passionate about preserving history and ensuring that future generations have access to accurate information about the past.

William P. Fischer has a Master's Degree in Theirtory from California State University, Northridge and a Bachelor's degree in Theirtory from Regis College.

They are on a team with Susan K. Donius - Executive, Legislative Archives, Presidential Libraries & Museum Services, Colleen Murphy - CFO, and Laurence Brewer - Chief Records Officer. Their manager is Debra Steidel Wall, Acting Archivist of the United States.
