Ed. D. Kevin Armstrong

Kevin Armstrong, Ed. D. has a diverse work experience. Kevin currently holds the position of Vice President at the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), having started in August 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Director At-Large Middle Level at NAESP from March 2018 to July 2022. Kevin also worked as an Executive Principal at Metro Nashville Public Schools starting in July 2011. Kevin has experience in academia as an Adjunct Professor at Lipscomb University from August 2017 to May 2018. Kevin has also contributed to the development of future school leaders as a Principal Mentor at the Governor's Academy for School Leadership from November 2016 to May 2018. Additionally, they served as a Mentor Principal for the PLAN program at Vanderbilt University from April 2014 to November 2016. Kevin's earlier experience includes coaching Track & Field at Middle Tennessee State University from 1990 to 1994.

Kevin Armstrong, Ed.D. began their education journey at Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. However, no specific degree or field of study is provided. In 1990, they enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a focus on Mathematics. Kevin completed their undergraduate program in 1995. Later, in 1998, Kevin Armstrong returned to Trevecca Nazarene University to pursue a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, which they successfully completed in 2000. After gaining valuable experience in the field, they decided to pursue a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree at Trevecca Nazarene University. From 2010 to 2013, they studied Leadership and Professional Practice, completing their doctoral studies. Additionally, Kevin Armstrong participated in the Principals Leadership Academy of Nashville (PLAN) offered by Vanderbilt University, earning the PLAN Project-Top Project Award.
