Maria Cornell

Maria Cornell currently serves as the Manager of Policy and Advocacy at the National Association of School Psychologists since September 2022. Prior roles include District Director for the Texas House of Representatives and Campaign Manager for the Rhetta Bowers Campaign, both from July 2021 to August 2022. Maria has also held positions such as Organizing Director for the Deborah Peoples for Mayor campaign and Canvassing Director for Shawn Lassiter for Congress. With experience in grassroots organizing and digital campaign strategies, Maria successfully led outreach initiatives, including Spanish phone banking efforts, and collaborated with various organizations to enhance civic engagement. Educational credentials include a Master of Education in Education Policy and Leadership from American University, expected in May 2025, and a Bachelor of Science in Culture and Politics from Georgetown University.
