Emily McCalla has a diverse work experience, starting as a Communications Associate at the National Audubon Society's Restore the Mississippi River Delta Coalition in 2016. Previously, they served as a Project and Marketing Coordinator at STUN Design and Interactive from 2013 to 2014. Emily began their career as the State Coordinator at The Louisiana Solar Energy Society from 2012 to 2013, where they managed all aspects of the organization, including membership, marketing, finances, event coordination, website development, and media relations. Emily also supervised an intern during their time at the society.

Emily McCalla attended Louisiana State University from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Environmental Sciences. In 2011, they also briefly studied Marketing at the University of Strathclyde.
