Director Of Communications at The National Board for Certified Counselors

Nikki Yannone has a diverse range of work experience in the field of counseling and communications. Nikki began their career as a Research Assistant at the Chronobiopsychology Laboratory in 2007. Nikki then worked as an Intern at the Mental Health Association of Greensboro in 2009. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Research Assistant for both the Children's Play Project and the Youth Wellness Project. In 2011, they joined The Office of Leadership and Service Learning as a Community Engagement Graduate Assistant until 2013. During this period, they also served as a Counseling Intern at Family Solutions, PLLC from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, they joined Sante Counseling as a Counselor, a role they held until joining The National Board for Certified Counselors in 2014. At the National Board for Certified Counselors, Nikki served as a Community Management Coordinator from 2014 to 2015, then as a Communications Manager from 2015 to 2017. From 2017 to 2020, they held the position of Director of Research and National Policy. As of 2020, they are currently serving as the Director of Communications at the National Board for Certified Counselors.

Nikki Yannone started their education journey in 2004 at the University of Maine, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism and Advertising. Nikki completed their undergraduate studies in 2008.

After that, they attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology in 2009.

Continuing their educational pursuits, Nikki completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Education Specialist (Ed.S) with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 2011 to 2013.

In addition to their academic degrees, Nikki Yannone also obtained a certification as a National Certified Counselor from the National Board for Certified Counselors in August 2013.
