Joseph Rohm is a seasoned professional specializing in climate change, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, and sustainable finance. Currently serving as a Partner at ERM, Joseph leads ESG due diligence for M&A transactions while developing decarbonization strategies and climate reporting frameworks. As a board member at the National Business Initiative, Joseph contributes to sustainable growth in Africa. Previous roles include Head of ESG at Adventis, Portfolio Manager at Ninety One and T Rowe Price International, and equity analyst positions at Insight Investment and ABN AMRO. Joseph holds multiple degrees, including a Certificate in Sustainable Finance from the University of Cambridge and an MBA in International Finance from Nyenrode Business University.

The National Business Initiative is a voluntary coalition of South African and multinational companies, working towards sustainable growth and development in South Africa and the shaping of a sustainable future through responsible business action. Since our inception in 1995, the NBI has made a distinct impact in the spheres of housing delivery, crime prevention, local economic development, public sector capacity building, Further Education and Training, schooling, public private partnerships, energy efficiency and climate change. The NBI's current strategy is focused on engaging NBI members in Economic and Social Transformation.
