John Shehan

Senior Vice President, ECD & International Engagement at National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

John Shehan has extensive work experience in the field of child protection and advocacy. John has held various senior positions at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, including Senior Vice President, ECD & International Engagement, Interim Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of the Exploited Children Division, Chief Operating Officer (Acting), Executive Director, Director of the Exploited Child Division, Deputy Director, CyberTipline Program Manager, Supervisor, Senior Analyst in CyberTipline, and Analyst in CyberTipline.

In addition to their role at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Shehan has also served as an Advisory Board Member at Radford University, Yubo, and Match Group, contributing their expertise to the areas of humanities and behavioral sciences and online safety. John has also held leadership positions at INHOPE, serving as Vice President of the INHOPE Association Board of Directors and President of the INHOPE Foundation Board of Directors.

John Shehan has a diverse education history. In 1995, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Radford University. John then pursued further education at Cornell University. From 2017 to 2018, they earned a Certificate in Executive Leadership. In 2019, they obtained a Certificate in High Performance Leadership. In 2022, John completed two certificate programs at Cornell University: one in Change Management and another in Change Leadership.

Additionally, John has obtained multiple certifications from LinkedIn.
