Valerie Fennell, PHR, SHRM-CP has a diverse range of work experience in the field of Human Resources. Valerie has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.
Starting in 2000, Valerie worked at Center Partners, Inc., a WPP company, where they served as an HR/Employee Relations Manager. In this role, they managed the HR department for a large site, supervised HR staff, and provided counseling and coaching on employee relations matters.
From 2003 to 2007, Valerie worked as an HR Business Partner at Unlimited Care., Inc. Valerie provided HR support and consulting for multiple locations of an assisted living healthcare business, advising and coaching business owners on employment issues and implementing a formal employee performance evaluation process.
Valerie then joined Adams County Government in 2008, where they held the positions of HR Business Partner and later Senior HR Business Partner. During their time there, they created an organization-wide ADA program, developed policies and procedures, and managed the program, responding to accommodation requests and conducting investigations.
In 2016, Valerie worked as an HR Generalist for U.S. Engineering, focusing on supporting the delivery of HR services for the Rocky Mountain region. Valerie assisted with workforce planning, coordinated the college internship program, and partnered with regional managers on HR functions.
Valerie's most recent position was at National CineMedia (NCM), where they started as an HR Generalist in 2017 and later became a Senior HR Generalist. In their role, they provided strategic HR services for the digital and cinema advertising company, supporting multiple departments across the U.S.
Throughout their career, Valerie has demonstrated a strong expertise in HR services, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and compliance with ADA regulations.
Valerie Fennell, PHR, SHRM-CP holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Educational Administration-Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Texas A&M University. Valerie also has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry (cum laude honors) from the same institution.
In addition to their degrees, Valerie has obtained several certifications. Valerie is a Certified Predictive Index Practitioner, having received this certification from The Predictive Index in April 2019. Valerie is also a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), obtaining this certification from SHRM in February 2015. Valerie holds the title of Leading at the Speed of Trust Facilitator, having completed training from FranklinCovey in January 2014. Furthermore, they are a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), having acquired this certification from HRCI in December 2005.
