Andreas Oranje

Andreas Oranje has had an extensive career in the field of assessment and learning technology. Andreas currently works as the Managing Director of Assessment Programs at the National Conference of Bar Examiners, where they lead the design and implementation of their core product, the NextGen Bar Exam. Andreas brings together research-based assessment solutions, evolving technology, and a focus on user experience to create innovative and fair assessment services for the legal profession.

Prior to their current role, Andreas worked at ETS as the Vice President of Assessment and Learning Technology R&D, where they oversaw the operational development of assessment content and led a research-based AI Research Labs focused on the future of EdTech. Before that, they served as the General Manager of AI and Cognitive Sciences and worked their way up the ranks in various roles, including Senior Psychometric Director. In these positions, Andreas worked on projects such as the NAEP program and GlassLab Games, utilizing their expertise in complex statistical analysis, modeling, data visualization, and programming.

Andreas began their career as a Researcher at the Intervu Foundation, where they worked from 1997 to 2001.

Andreas Oranje obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree cum laude in Psychological Methods and Applied Statistics from the University of Amsterdam, from 1993 to 1998. Subsequently, they pursued a Ph.D. in Psychological Methods and Quantitative Psychology at the same university from 1998 to 2001. Andreas furthered their education by completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2020 to 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Andreas Oranje has earned several certifications. These include a Master of Business Administration certification from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in August 2022. Andreas has also obtained the "Verified International Academic Qualifications" certification from World Education Services in September 2020. Additionally, Andreas holds certifications in innovation, agile methodologies, design thinking, and business design from institutions such as ASU+GSV Summit, GSV Ventures, Coursera, and IDEO U.
