Kirsten Madison has a strong and extensive work experience in various government and policy-related roles. Kirsten currently serves as the Vice President of Government Relations at the National Endowment for Democracy, where they oversee the development and implementation of an engagement strategy with the U.S. Congress and Executive Branch. Prior to this, they were the Director of Homeland Security for the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, where they led the development of policies and legislation related to homeland security and the Department of Homeland Security. Kirsten has also served as the Assistant Secretary for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs at the Department of State, where they were responsible for implementing U.S. policies related to international narcotics control and law enforcement. Before that, they held senior positions at the American Enterprise Institute, the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and the United States Coast Guard. Kirsten's work experience also includes roles at the U.S. Department of State, the National Security Council, and the Organization of American States. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in policy development, strategic planning, budget management, and international affairs.
Kirsten Madison received a M.Sc. degree in European Studies from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 1991. Prior to that, they earned a B.A. in International Relations from Goucher College in 1990. In 1989, they studied British Politics through the Boston University - London Program, but did not complete a specific degree.
