Scott Crawford, PhD, currently serves as a Research Physical Scientist at the National Energy Technology Laboratory since August 2023. Previously, Scott was an Analytical Chemist at Leidos, focusing on optical sensors and resource extraction efficiency. With experience spanning multiple roles at the National Energy Technology Laboratory and the University of Pittsburgh, Scott contributed to significant research, including publications in the Journal of the American Chemical Society that investigated gold nanoparticle surface chemistry. Scott has a strong background in metal nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, mentoring undergraduate researchers, and developing experimental courses. Scott also interned as a Mickey Leland Energy Fellow and at Lanxess, enhancing skills in synthesis and analytical chemistry. Scott holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and a BS in Chemistry and Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
