Kirsten Dunne

Kirsten Dunne serves as the Senior Projects Conservator at the National Galleries of Scotland, a position held since May 2005, focusing on Microfading, Time-Based Media, and technology integration within the Conservation department. This role encompasses managing testing and analysis programs for both the collection and external clients while developing strategic initiatives. Previously, Kirsten held roles such as National Collections Facility Conservator, contributing to a major capital project for a new collections facility, and Paper Conservator, where responsibilities included paper conservation, preventive conservation, and environmental management. Early career experience includes working as a Conservator at the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MiMA), where Kirsten played a key role in establishing a conservation studio and documenting its collection. Kirsten holds an MA in Conservation of Works of Art on Paper from Northumbria University and an MA in History of Art from The University of Edinburgh.
