Ben Sterner

Ben Sterner is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in advancement operations within prominent institutions. Currently serving as the Vice President of Advancement Operations at National Geographic Society since March 2021, Ben previously held the role of Senior Director in the same department. Prior to this, Ben was the Director of Advancement Operations at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business from May 2016 to February 2021. Ben's earlier career at Dartmouth College included positions as Managing Director of Development Analytics, Prospect Manager, and Assistant Director of Individual Giving from December 2007 to May 2016. Ben earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia between 1999 and 2003.
