Veda Shastri is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in storytelling and production across various platforms. Currently serving as a Senior Producer and Contributing Producer at National Geographic since March 2019, Veda specializes in digital content, mobile storytelling, and immersive experiences. In addition to this role, Veda has been a Visiting Professor at Ashoka University and Vedica Institute since August 2019, teaching media studies and digital storytelling. Previously, Veda worked at The New York Times from September 2016 to March 2019, where over 100 immersive stories were produced and reported. Notably, Veda co-produced and co-directed the award-nominated VR documentary "Return to Chernobyl" for PBS Frontline in 2016. Earlier experience includes assistant editor roles at CNN-IBN in India and a news internship at NDTV. Veda holds a Master of Arts in Journalism and Documentary Film from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Tufts University.
