Josh McNeil is a General Engineer at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the Office of Crashworthiness within the Light Duty Vehicle Division since March 2022. Prior to this role, Josh served as an Instructional PT Temp Adjunct at Virginia Tech, contributing to an NHTSA-funded project focused on crashworthiness standards for autonomous vehicles and performing biomechanics testing. Additionally, Josh worked as a Contract Editor at Research Square, providing editing services for engineering research articles, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech, where significant progress was made in developing an autonomous fire suppression system. Josh holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook University.
