James Fenton

Assistant Director, Integrated Pathways at National Institute for Health Research

James is Assistant Director of Integrated Pathways at the NIHR Academy Executive.

James has oversight of the programmes NIHR manages to support the development of clinical academic careers for all clinical professions. He works with his team to deliver the the NIHR Integrated Academic Training (IAT) programme for medics and dentists, and the HEE/NIHR Integrated Clinical Academic Programme for non-medical/dental clinicians.

James has worked for NIHR in research management and people development since 2009. Before this, he held senior medical research roles working on haematological malignancies.
