Donaven McLaurin is a seasoned biological sciences professional with extensive experience in research and education. As a Biological Sciences Specialist at the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture since September 2021, Donaven has focused on developing methodologies to assess emerging research trends related to NSF funding. Prior to this role, Donaven served as a Science Assistant at the National Science Foundation from August 2020 to September 2021 and was a Doctoral Student at The University of Southern Mississippi from 2015 to August 2020, where a Ph.D. in Biology/Biological Sciences was obtained. Earlier experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant at Mississippi State University and an intern at the National Science Foundation. Donaven holds a Master's degree in Community College Education (Biological Sciences) from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from The University of Southern Mississippi.
