Akihiko Takano

Professor Emeritus at National Institute of Informatics

Akihiko Takano is a distinguished academic and founder with extensive experience in informatics and digital publishing. Currently serving as Professor Emeritus at the National Institute of Informatics since April 2022, Takano has held prominent positions including Professor at the University of Tokyo until December 2023 and Professor at the National Institute of Informatics until the same date. Takano has also contributed as Founder and Publisher of the Association Press NPO since December 2005. Additional roles include Visiting Professor at the National Museum of Ethnology and Ritsumeikan University, as well as leadership positions such as CTO at Digital Publishing Initiatives Japan Co., Ltd. and Director at the Research Center for Informatics of the National Institute of Informatics.
