Topi Tanskanen serves as a Research Coordinator at the University of Helsinki since April 2020. Tanskanen has extensive experience as a Visiting Scientist and Research Scientist at RIKEN since July 2008, focusing on the organization of the human cortex using specialized MRI techniques. Additionally, Tanskanen holds the position of Senior Visiting Researcher at NICT, engaging in collaborative high field MRI research. As a Lecturer at Waseda University from April 2014 to March 2020, Tanskanen taught neuroscience and previously researched visual processing at Aalto University from 1999 to 2008. Earlier in 1998, Tanskanen worked as a Neuropsychologist, evaluating and rehabilitating cognitive deficits in neurological patients. Tanskanen earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Psychology from the University of Helsinki, completing studies in 2008 and 1999, respectively.
