Zeeshan Ahmed is a Senior Scientist at NIST, leading the Photonic sensor program focused on temperature, humidity, pressure, and VOC, while also serving as Chairman of the Task Group on Emerging Technologies for the Consultative Committee for Thermometry. Previously, Zeeshan held the position of NRC Postdoctoral Fellow at NIST and NIH, where development of Terahertz spectroscopy for characterizing solid forms of organic and biological materials was undertaken. A Visiting Scientist at ETH Zürich, work included the development of deep UV-SERS for zeptomole detection of biological specimens. Zeeshan's academic foundation includes a PhD in Physical Chemistry/Biophysics from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry from George Mason University.
