Pamela Welsh

Pamela Welsh has a diverse work experience in the fields of marketing, communications, and public relations. Pamela is currently the Director of Marketing and Communications at the National Institute of Teaching since December 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Board Member at Salix Homes starting in July 2020. From January 2019 to December 2022, Pamela was the Associate Director of Corporate Communications at Ambition Institute. Pamela also held the position of Trustee at UK-Med from September 2018 to January 2020.

Before that, Ms. Welsh worked at Manchester City Council in various communication roles, including Communications Business Partner, Communications Lead for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, and Communications Business Lead. From 2017 to 2019, they operated as a Freelance Communications Consultant under their own company, Pamela Welsh Communications. Additionally, Pamela served as a Trustee at Greater Manchester Youth Network from July 2014 to October 2017.

In terms of earlier experiences, Pamela worked as a Strategic PR Manager at Wigan Council from July 2016 to February 2017. Pamela also spent four years at Northwards Housing as a Media and Communications Specialist, where they played a key role in directing communications, raising the organization's profile, and engaging with tenants and residents. Their career started at Manchester Evening News, where they worked as a Reporter from May 2007 to April 2012.

Pamela Welsh obtained a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Cambridge from 2003 to 2006. Pamela then pursued a PG Diploma in Newspaper Journalism at City, University of London from 2006 to 2007.
