Paula Delaney

Head Of Programme Design at National Institute of Teaching

Paula Delaney has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Paula'smost recent role is Head of Programme Design at the National Institute of Teaching, which they started in March 2023. Prior to this, they were a Design Lead at the same institution from October 2022 to February 2023. Before joining the National Institute of Teaching, Paula was the Head of Content at the Teacher Development Trust from April 2022 to November 2022. Paula also served as the Instructional Design Lead and Online Leadership Design Associate at the same organization from November 2021 to April 2022 and from May 2021 to November 2021, respectively. Paula's previous roles include Head of Learning and Programme Manager at the National College of Education in 2021, Fellow and Design Manager in the Learning Design Team at Ambition Institute from 2018 to 2021, and Head of Humanities Faculty at Sarah Bonnell School from September 2017 to August 2018. Paula started their teaching career as a Teacher of Religious Studies and History at St. Anne's Catholic High School for Girls in July 2011 and later became the Subject Leader for Sociology/EPQ Coordinator/Extended SLT at the same institution from September 2012 to August 2017. Paula also worked as a Teacher of Humanities at Beechwood School from September 2010 to July 2011 and as a Teacher of Geography, History, and Sociology at St. Anne's Catholic High School for Girls from September 2009 to July 2010. Paula began their teaching journey as a Teacher of History at Neale-Wade Community College from September 2008 to July 2009 and as a Teacher of Geography, Irish, and Religious Studies at Patrician Secondary School from September 2007 to June 2008.

Paula Delaney earned a Master of Education (MEd) degree with a focus on Leadership and Management from The Open University, studying from 2019 to 2024. Prior to that, they completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Education at University College Dublin between 2006 and 2007. Paula also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History & Sociology from Maynooth University, which they obtained from 2001 to 2004. Additionally, Paula has a Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) from Liverpool Hope University, but no specific dates were provided for this qualification.
