Janine A. Clayton

Janine A. Clayton is the current Associate Director of Research on Women's Health at the National Institutes of Health. Janine has served in this role since August 2011. Prior to their current position, they were the Deputy Director of the Office of Research on Women's Health at the National Institutes of Health from July 2008 to August 2011. From January 1994 to December 2008, they served as the Deputy Clinical Director at the National Eye Institute.

Janine A. Clayton has a Fellowship from the National Eye Institute in the field of Uveitis / Ocular Immunology, as well as a Fellowship from Johns Hopkins University in the field of Cornea and External Diseases. Janine also has a Residency from the Medical College of Virginia in the field of Ophthalmology. Janine received their MD from Howard University College of Medicine in the field of medicine. Finally, they received their BA from The Johns Hopkins University in the field of Natural Sciences. Janine is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
