Job description

Reporting to the VP of Development, the Development Manager is a full-time exempt (salaried) position responsible for project management of individual giving campaigns, administration of systems and databases to support individual giving, and limited grant writing and administration. The position, housed within the Marketing, Communications and Development team, uses data and analytics to assess the efficacy of fundraising campaigns and revise our approach accordingly. The position directly coordinates with members of the Finance/Administration team. This position has a salary range of $65,000-$70,000 DOE, and has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

Individual Giving (40%)

Serve as project manager for the end of year Share The Ride campaign, and any additional individual giving campaigns. Collaborate with Development Communications Manager and MarCom team on campaign communications, creative assets and delivery.

Develop and execute new individual giving campaign strategies that leverage NICA’s strengths and partnerships, such as peer-to-peer fundraising rides.

Assist in determining long range/short term annual giving goals.

Develop and project manage coordinated solicitation strategy involving email, direct mail, phone/mail, personal visitation, and volunteer engagement, all focused on shaping a sustainable tradition of annual support.

Support league fundraising campaigns: provide training to leagues to increase efficacy and ensure compliance with minimum standards for peer to peer giving, League Fundraising Campaigns, annual giving, and all other individual giving campaigns.

Measure and analyze development campaign results, providing end of campaign reports to team and leadership.

Grants (20%)

Working with VP of Development, identify and approach potential foundation prospects.

Write grant proposals and reports in support of key development objectives. Maintain systems to support grants tracking and deliverables.

Alumni Network (20%)

Project manager for NICA alumni network, which provides ongoing support, recognition, and appreciation for NICA alumni and cultivates future donors.

Steward and create unique engagement opportunities for NICA’s alumni community, including but not limited to local events (in partnership with NICA leagues), online opportunities, a job/internship job board, and various social media channels.

Operational Support (20%)

Assist in onboarding new leagues to development guidelines and standards. Utilize NICA Hub to improve development-related reporting on community members, including parents, coaches, donors, and alumni.

Maintain all development lists in new NICA Hub, including donors, prospects, sponsors, and other community members.

Provide excellent and timely customer service to external customers who request information, including recent and past donations, and other donor records.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor contact and biographical information; add gift information and donor correspondence to central files, as needed.

Process and mail pledge reminders, receipts, donor acknowledgments, and other donor communications as required; devising systems where necessary.

Assist in gift, sponsorship, and in-kind reconciliation with the accounting department.

Assist in donor cultivation and stewardship events.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience working with CRM, donor databases and email marketing tools. Knowledge of G-Suite applications, Monday.com, HubSpot highly recommended.

Experience and familiarity with NICA is highly recommended.

Demonstrated project management skills.

Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills; grant writing experience a plus.

Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and work collaboratively and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to youth, parents, coaches, cycling industry, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

Demonstrated motivational and problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the organization.

Requires significant work time on a computer.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required.

Two plus years of experience in managing a complex database.

Demonstrated experience supporting annual giving, alumni relations, sponsor/donor relations, or other forms of development.

Background check will need to be processed (required for work in our youth nonprofit).
