Lauren Cross, Ph.D., currently serves as the Gail-Oxford Associate Curator of American Decorative Arts at The Huntington and as an Executive Strategist for the National Juneteenth Museum. A founder and curator of WoCA Projects, Lauren Cross manages artistic programming that emphasizes diversity and the work of women artists of color. Additionally, Lauren Cross established CVAAD Projects, focusing on exhibitions and writing about artists from the African diaspora. As the Principal Designer & Photographer at Shalom Images Enterprises and a fine artist at Lauren Cross Studio, Lauren Cross produces a variety of art forms addressing themes of race and gender identity. Other roles include Film Director & Producer at Maes House Productions and various academic positions at the University of North Texas, where responsibilities included teaching interdisciplinary courses and mentoring students. Lauren Cross holds a Ph.D. in Multicultural Women's & Gender Studies from Texas Woman's University and an MFA in Visual Arts from Lesley University.
