Ammasi Ayyandurai, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist at the National Metallurgical Laboratory since September 2012, focusing on research and development in iron and steel making, particularly in areas such as dephosphorization, refining, slag design, and production of ferroalloys through various reduction processes. In addition to extensive experience with computational thermodynamics tools like FactSage and Thermo-Calc, Ammasi Ayyandurai has conducted research on the kinetics of carbon oxidation during induration. Previous positions include Scientist and Trainee Scientist at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research, Honorary Assistant Professor at ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, and Assistant Manager in a steel making plant. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Metallurgical Engineering from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research and a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgical Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Salem.
