Julie Matthews

Julie Matthews serves as the Head of Visitor Experience at National Museums Scotland since December 2015. Prior to this role, Julie held the position of Head of Security at Edinburgh Airport from October 2012 to July 2015, overseeing all aspects of security strategy and operational delivery. Julie's extensive career at British Midland International spanned from April 1988 to September 2012, where positions included Airport Manager, Customer Services Duty Manager, Training Officer, Aircraft Dispatcher/Load Controller, Customer Services Agent, and Station Officer. In addition to operational roles, Julie designed and implemented a training program that successfully trained over 2,000 staff. Julie's educational background includes attendance at George Watson's College from 1972 to 1985.
