Andrea Munafo is an accomplished academic and industry professional specializing in robotics, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Università di Pisa since November 2024, Munafo has held significant roles including Senior Visiting Fellow at the National Oceanography Centre and Head of Software Engineering for Robotic Systems and Software. In these positions, Munafo has coordinated large research teams across Europe to develop innovative technologies, such as advanced navigation algorithms for autonomous vehicles and robust robotic control systems.
