Sean Rooney

Sean Rooney has extensive engineering experience, currently serving as a Third Engineer at the National Oceanography Centre since June 2019, providing critical support for offshore projects including subsea power cable installations. Prior to this role, Sean held positions as an Engineer Officer Cadet at Chiltern Maritime and as a Field Engineer at EMAS GROUP, where responsibilities included engineering analyses for pipeline projects using specialized software. Earlier career experiences include undergraduate roles in various engineering capacities at companies such as Sierra Rutile Limited, BPT Engineering, CapTom Engineering, and Sandvik, all of which contributed to a solid foundation in mechanical engineering. Sean earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, completing the degree in 2013.
