Melanie Flood

Co-chair, Regional Policy Taskforce at National Organization for Rare Disorders

Melanie Flood currently serves as the Director of Development Major Gifts at Make-A-Wish® Northeastern & Central California and Northern Nevada and is the Founder of the Mellie J Foundation, which advocates for equitable legislation and research on rare autoimmune eye diseases. Additionally, Melanie is the Co-Chair of the Regional Policy Taskforce for the National Organization for Rare Disorders, facilitating advocacy in multiple western states. Previous roles include Director of Communications at First 5 Center for Children's Policy and First 5 Association of California, Director of Communications at Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, Social Enterprise UK, and the UK Fashion and Textile Association. Melanie holds a Graduate degree from The A.C.T. Conservatory and has studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts-Los Angeles.
