Heather Shannon

Heather Shannon is a highly experienced nursing professional with expertise in critical care, anesthesia, and wilderness medicine. Currently serving as a Post Anesthesia Care Nurse at Barton Health since April 2023, Heather has held various significant roles including Nurse Specialist at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services since January 2011, and Senior Instructor at NOLS Wilderness Medicine since September 2003. Heather has also gained extensive experience as a Flight Nurse at REACH Air Medical Services and as a Clinical Supervisor/Educator at American Medical Response. Previous roles include intensive care nursing at Sutter Health and registered nursing at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Heather holds a Master of Science in Critical Care Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco, a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University, and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Southern Connecticut State University.
